The branch closed in June 2026, and the City put the building up for sale.
Which is where it comes back around. Another group of north side business people is asking for the same building, for the reason the first group gave. The City of La Crosse selected our proposal. The first time it took thirty-seven years, two referendums and a one-vote margin — and a trustee who had to stand up and say that the schools and the sewage plant had both had their turn. We intend to be quicker.
